I went to the American Library Association Conference this weekend and had a great time. It was held in Anaheim, CA this year, so definitely close. I was walking down the exhibit halls, and this robot from Emery-Pratt.com was the most interesting thing I saw. He was hilarious! Just watch!
Some other vendors that we talked to were: TracSystems (our current printing system), Demco (library furniture), and Innovative Interfaces (software for our online catalog).
A lot of people have asked me how to link text on Plurk. It’s kind of hard to show you how to on Plurk itself, so I thought writing a post about it would be more helpful. ;)
In the above image, you can see that all you have to do is type your link first, and then put the words you want it to link to in parentheses.
I found this out by accident while typing something.. and have been using this trick ever since. Now you can too. ;) Enjoy your Plurk Tip of the day!

Check out the latest and greatest in Web 2.0! It’s Husband in a box!
This video makes me laugh. :) Doesn’t every gal want one of these? hehe Not only did she convert him to a Coach carrier, but she also converted him into a Web 2.0 program!
Do you want to update all your social networking websites, but simply do not have the time for copying and pasting? Not to worry, Ping.fm is here! It’s a nice new service that allows you to update all of your social networking websites with just one click!
Another great thing is, they have a trigger system that makes it easier to post to specific services. They’ve have broken down the services into three groups; blogging, micro-blogging and status updates. So if you only wanted to update your status on various websites, you can do so without posting to a blog website. It’s lovely, try it out! Leave a comment if you need an invite code.
Michael Fortson, a Qik developer, announced earlier today that Qik is now has support for the iPhone, bringing the full Qik experience to legions of iPhone fans the world over.
That’s just amazing! That also means there will be a lot more Qikkers soon! I love this piece of software because it just brings you a step closer to your friends and family.
And I can’t forget to mention that I just love the new and improve Qik website. It looks beautiful! Here’s my Qik Profile. Unfortunately, there won’t be any updates for a while.. not until Qik is completely working on all Windows CE phones. I’m back to my T-Mobile Shadow.
If you missed the WWDC08 Keynote yesterday, don’t worry! Mahalo Daily has put a nice 60 seconds version of the keynote for you! Believe me, it does have all the key points!
Have you tried Viewzi yet? It’s amazing way to surf the internet. You can even customize how you want to see your results. If you’re a visual person, you will love the search result customization!
I did a 45-minute Wii Fit workout today, and then decided to sit in my computer chair for a few hours to make this video. ;) Enjoy! And yes I know I sound tired.
I really enjoyed using my Nokia N95 trial phone. After sending it back, the feature I missed the most was the camera and being able to use Qik. Relearning how to use my T-mobile Shadow was hard, even though it had significantly less features than the Nokia N95.
I gave in and purchased a silver Creative Vado online earlier this week. I can’t wait for it to come in! Originally, I had my eye on the Flip Video Ultra. Then I waited for the Flip Mino, but it costs a little more than what I wanted to pay right now. I’ll let you know how the Vado is once I play with it!
I love using Goosh, the unofficial Google shell. It brings back the old days of unix shell command lines. Just enter your Google search on the command line and hit enter!
Below you can see that I did a search for “Affinity Zero” and my results are displayed on the screen.
Thanks Emily Chang for finding this tool! And Max Kiesler has a great demo you can watch.
Marié Digby is currently my favorite artist! She’s another talented artist who emerged on the YouTube scene.
I first heard of her from iTunes though. When I heard her remake of “Umbrella” on iTunes, if loved it and had to have it. :) Her “Unfold” cd was released April of this year, and of course I already bought it! (iTunes CD Link). Umbrella, Say it Again, Invisible Girl, Girlfriend, Better Off Alone, Stupid for You, Unfold are some of my favorite songs on the cd.
Sorry, you won’t see any videos of me doing this, but the Hula Hoop game is definitely my favorite Wii Fit game so far! And I’ve tried quite a few already too. My goal is to place on all slots of the score board before anyone even gets to try. And definitely beating my 1st place score of course. :) This game is definitely fun and healthy!
My current Wii Fit age is 38.. yikes. I want to bring it down a lot by the end of the week! But it was 44 before I did the exercises! And I supposedly lost a few pounds tonight!
